Nifty Auto index set for worst week in six years — Here are some key risks
Shares of Ashok Leyland are down 13% so far for the week, while Bharat Forge and Tata Motors PV are down 12% and 11% respectively. Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Eicher Motors, TVS Motor are down 10% each.
Closing Bell: Sensex, Nifty end flat amid volatility; pharma, oil & gas gain, media falls
Bharat Electronics, Adani Ports, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, Maruti Suzuki were among major gainers on the Sensex, while losers were Power Grid Corporation, Trent, Bajaj Finserv, HDFC Bank and Eternal. Among sectors, auto, pharma, oil & gas, PSU Bank telecom, metal added 0.4-1%, while media index shed 0.7%. Nifty Midcap index rose 0.6%, while smallcap index ended flat.
Taking Stock: Market rally continues; Nifty near 24,200, Sensex gains 254 points
Biggest Nifty gainers were Max Healthcare, Interglobe Aviation, Trent, Bharat Electronics, Adani Enterprises, while losers included Infosys, Maruti Suzuki, Tech Mahindra, Tata Consumer and TCS.
