India plans to operationalise up to 60 mines in FY27

India is set to launch 50 to 60 new mines this fiscal year, building on the 36 operationalized in the previous year. The government is also fast-tracking bids for lithium and nickel processing units within three months. Significant progress is being made in critical mineral extraction and exploration projects, with targets expected to be met ahead of schedule. The private sector is also actively participating in exploration.
