Bank credit growth to ease as corporates tap bond markets, overseas funding: CareEdge

Bank credit growth is expected to moderate gradually in the upcoming fiscal year. Large corporations will increasingly use domestic bond markets and overseas borrowings for funding. The Reserve Bank of India's policy measures make external funding more attractive for businesses. This shift will reduce reliance on traditional bank loans for corporate financing needs. Overall credit demand remains healthy, but banks will finance a smaller share.

Six of top-10 firms add ₹88,678 crore in mcap, ICICI Bank biggest winner

The combined market valuation of 6 of the top-10 most valued companies went up by Rs 88,678.1 crore in a holiday-shortened last week, with ICICI Bank emerging as the biggest winner. Last week, the BSE benchmark Sensex climbed 297.57 points, or 0.38 per cent, and the NSE Nifty went up by 42.9 points, or 0.17 per cent. "Markets ended the holiday-shortened week with modest gains, advancing in three of the four trading sessions. Sentiment remained constructive, supported by easing crude oil prices, improving geopolitical developments in West Asia, and selective buying by foreign institutional investors (FIIs)," Ajit Mishra, SVP, Research, Religare Broking Ltd, said. While Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance and Larsen & Toubro were the gainers, Bharti Airtel, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and Hindustan Unilever faced erosion from their valuation. The market valuation of ICICI Bank jumped Rs ...

REITs' leasable area to rise 30% by FY28, credit profiles to remain healthy

India's listed office REITs are poised for significant expansion, with leasable space projected to grow by 40-45 million sq ft by 2027-28. This growth, fueled by new listings and acquisitions, coupled with strong rental income and stable occupancy, will bolster credit profiles. Despite reliance on debt for future acquisitions, leverage is expected to remain controlled, ensuring a robust sector.

Sensex rises 291 points, Nifty tops 24,100 on cooling crude and FII support

Domestic equities advanced on Monday as cooling oil prices and fresh FII inflows fuelled risk appetite. Buying in heavyweight Reliance Industries and healthcare counters propelled the Nifty past the 24,100 level. The gains were partly offset by weakness in consumer durables and FMCG stocks.

The combined market valuation of seven of the top-10 most-valued firms eroded by Rs 1.25 lakh crore last week, with Reliance Industries taking the biggest hit, in-line with a bearish trend in equities. Last week, the BSE benchmark Sensex declined 532.4 points, or 0.71 per cent, and the NSE Nifty dipped 181.05 points, or 0.76 per cent. Concerns regarding the pace of monsoon advancement also weighed on investor confidence," Santosh Meena, Head of Research at Swastika Investmart Ltd, said. From the top-10 pack, Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and Hindustan Unilever faced erosion from their valuation, while HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and State Bank of India were the gainers.
