Market Pulse: Key triggers to watch ahead of the July 3 trading session

Market Pulse July 3: Global cues remain supportive as US stocks traded higher after weaker-than-expected jobs data reinforced hopes of a prolonged pause in Federal Reserve rate hikes. Domestically, investors will track Adani Enterprises’ ₹10,000-crore QIP launch and developments in energy markets after the government ruled out an immediate fuel price cut. Technically, Nifty’s close above its 100-day moving average has improved sentiment, with analysts seeing scope for a move towards 24,300-24,500, while 24,000 remains a key support level.

Last week, the BSE benchmark Sensex climbed 297.57 points, or 0.38 per cent, and the NSE Nifty went up by 42.9 points, or 0.17 per cent. "Markets ended the holiday-shortened week with modest gains, advancing in three of the four trading sessions. Sentiment remained constructive, supported by easing crude oil prices, improving geopolitical developments in West Asia, and selective buying by foreign institutional investors (FIIs)," Ajit Mishra, SVP, Research, Religare Broking Ltd, said. While Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance and Larsen & Toubro were the gainers, Bharti Airtel, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and Hindustan Unilever faced erosion from their valuation. Dalal Street set for a firm opening as GIFT Nifty trades higher

Indian markets surged on Monday, with the Nifty closing higher, buoyed by positive US-Iran talks, falling crude prices, and strong global sentiment. Value buying in IT stocks and reduced market volatility also contributed to the rally. Analysts anticipate a continued positive outlook for Indian equities, driven by ongoing diplomatic progress and stable energy prices. Investors are advised to watch key technical levels as volatility may persist.

Sensex rises 291 points, Nifty tops 24,100 on cooling crude and FII support

Domestic equities advanced on Monday as cooling oil prices and fresh FII inflows fuelled risk appetite. Buying in heavyweight Reliance Industries and healthcare counters propelled the Nifty past the 24,100 level. The gains were partly offset by weakness in consumer durables and FMCG stocks.

ICICI Prudential's Anand Shah favours manufacturing, consumer services despite inflation risks

Anand Shah, CIO-PMS & AIF at ICICI Prudential AMC, believes manufacturing-focused mid- and small-cap companies are well placed to benefit from stronger earnings growth, rupee depreciation and a gradual shift towards domestic production. He remains overweight on consumer services, private banks, asset managers and insurance firms, while expecting telecom industry profitability to improve over time through tariff hikes. Shah also warned that inflation risks from energy and food prices could weigh on consumption.

Oil prices to ease after US-Iran deal, but return to pre-war levels could take months: Analysts

Energy markets anticipate price moderation for crude oil and liquefied natural gas. A potential US-Iran peace agreement and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz are key factors. However, analysts warn of continued volatility due to supply disruptions and low inventories. India's energy security and import costs are expected to improve. Full market normalisation may take months.
