SMAM expands farm mechanization with 21.61 lakh machines, Custom Hiring Centres and large-scale Kisan Drone demonstrations
The Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) expands access for small farmers, women and disadvantaged groups through targeted mechanization support nationwide. Special emphasis has been placed on under-served and North-Eastern States to address regional disparities in access to farm machinery and technology. Since its inception, Rs 9,404.47 crore has supported the distribution of 21.61 lakh agricultural machines to individual farmers across India. Over 40,928 drone demonstrations covering 40,918 hectares were conducted with Rs.52.5 crore financial support, promoting precision agriculture adoption nationwide.

India has achieved a major aviation milestone with its first-ever satellite-based landing system approach on a jet aircraft. An IndiGo Airbus A320 successfully used the GAGAN system for a precision landing in Udaipur, marking a leap from previous turboprop-only operations. This advancement, developed by ISRO and AAI, enhances navigation accuracy and reduces reliance on ground infrastructure, positioning India among nations with indigenous satellite navigation capabilities.
Panattoni plans 1.52 lakh sq ft manufacturing facility in Hyderabad
Industrial real estate developer Panattoni is entering Hyderabad with a Rs 150 crore advanced manufacturing project. This build-to-own facility will span 10 acres and focus on aerospace and high-precision manufacturing. Construction begins in July and will take 15 months. The project aims to support around 500 jobs in the region. Panattoni's India operations started in 2022.
