Strait of Hormuz Closure: ExxonMobil, Lockheed Martin to BAE Systems — these global stocks to benefit from US-Iran war

The closure of the Strait of Hormuz would disrupt global LNG flows, favouring non-Gulf producers. Companies like Flex LNG and Golar LNG stand to benefit. The situation could increase global inflation and reduce GDP, while non-Gulf oil producers may gain from higher crude prices.

Sensex jumps 939 pts, Nifty tops 23,400 on value buying in large caps

Domestic equity benchmarks ended sharply higher on Monday, supported by value buying in select large-cap stocks as investors assessed the potential fallout of the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict. Sentiment improved after media reports indicated that Donald Trump is likely to announce in the coming days the formation of an international coalition to escort commercial shipping vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, as the conflict with Iran enters its third week. U.S. officials reportedly said the White House could unveil the initiative as early as this week. However, overall sentiment remained cautious amid persistent FII outflows and elevated crude oil prices due to ongoing tensions involving Iran, Israel and the United States. The Nifty closed above the 23,400 mark, led by gains in auto, financial services and private banking stocks.

Friday the 13th haunts Nifty bulls again! What’s the link between market crash and paraskevidekatriaphobia?

Friday the 13th, a date often associated with superstition, saw Indian markets open sharply lower, with the Sensex and Nifty experiencing significant drops. This decline is attributed to geopolitical tensions between Iran and the US-Israel and rising crude oil prices, rattling investor sentiment and pushing the market towards its biggest weekly drop in over a year.

Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE updates: GIFT Nifty down 150 points, Max Financial Services in focus

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Every upmove on the Nifty is getting sold into. That has been the texture of this market for most parts of the last two weeks. Thursday was no different. Adding to that is the return of oil at $100 a barrel, despite the US allowing temporary purchase of Russian oil already at sea. Reversing the sell-on-rallies template will be the first priority for the Nifty bulls. For the Nifty, which has already entered a "technical correction," Thursday's panic low of 23,556 becomes the first important level to watch on the downside, Watch this space for all the LIVE Updates.

Explained — Why oil prices are still rising despite IEA decision on emergency reserves

Analysts believe that the IEA decision does not do much to address the other problems that the global economy would face. Most of the refined products, including Jet fuel, still flow through the Strait of Hormuz, where tanker traffic has all but halted, as acknowledged by Birol as well.
