Sebi has proposed allowing depositories to use up to 5% of their investor protection fund (IPF) income for administrative and statutory expenses. This move aims to align IPF trust operations with existing stock exchange frameworks. The IPF corpus for NSDL and CDSL stood at ₹87.78 crore and ₹95.18 crore respectively as of March 31, 2026.
Equity MFs inflow dips 5% in April; SIP contributions fall to ₹31,115 cr
Equity-oriented mutual fund schemes garnered a net inflow of Rs 38,440 crore in April, marking a 5 per cent decline from the preceding month, amid geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, fluctuating crude oil prices, and concerns about global growth. Moreover, monthly contributions through SIPs (Systematic Investment Plans) declined to Rs 31,115 crore last month from Rs 32,087 crore in March,according to data released by industry body Amfi on Monday. Overall, the industry recorded a net infusion of Rs 3.22 lakh crore in April after witnessing an outflow of Rs 2.4 lakh crore in March. This was contributed by a huge inflow of Rs 2.5 lakh crore in the debt funds. The inflow has lifted the industry's assets under management by 11 per cent to Rs 81.92 lakh crore at the end of April, up from Rs 73.73 lakh crore at the end of March. Gold and silver may remain range-bound for a second consecutive week as investors assess developments in US-Iran peace negotiations and global macroeconomic data, analysts said. Traders will track inflation data from China, Germany, and the United States, along with GDP numbers from the Eurozone and the UK, later this week, they added. "Gold prices momentum looks consolidative, while silver movement looks positive in the coming week as traders will focus again on the progress on peace talks between the US and Iran to end the war and markets are likely to react accordingly," Pranav Mer, Vice President, EBG - Commodity & Currency Research, JM Financial Services Ltd, said.
