Indian equities erased all the intraday losses with Nifty back above 23,500. Among sectors IT index up 4%, while auto, metal, Consumer Durables, realty up 0.5% each. However, pharma, healthcare, power, media, energy down 0.5-1%. Nifty Midcap 100 hits record high. Should one book profits or will the rally continue in short term?
Analysts said the sharp outperformance of the Nifty Midcap 100 was being supported by strong earnings momentum, favourable sectoral positioning and sustained institutional participation.

Biggest Nifty losers were L&T, Interglobe Aviation, Adani Ports, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, Adani Enterprises, while gainers included Bharat Electronics, Sun Pharma, ONGC, Dr Reddy's Labs and Hindalco. Except metals, all other sectoral indices ended lower with Auto, Consumer Durables, Oil & Gas down 2 percent each. The Nifty midcap and smallcap indices fell 1.5 percent each.

Global markets rebound sharply as US equities recover from Wednesday's sell-off. The Nasdaq surged nearly 2%, led by chip stocks, while Intel jumped 10% after President Trump announced a partnership with Apple on chip designs. Meanwhile, broader markets continued to outperform the benchmark indices, with the Nifty Midcap index rising 1.1% and the Smallcap index gaining 0.9%.

Among sectors, auto, bank, FMCG, metal, realty, telecom shed 1-2%, while IT, media, consumer durables ended in the green.

Indian equities traded on a subdued note on Thursday afternoon, with benchmark indices hovering around the flatline after early volatility. At 2:20 pm, the Sensex was up 11.40 points at 74,357.57, while the Nifty gained 11.30 points to 23,416.90. Market breadth remained positive, with 2,076 stocks advancing against 1,689 declines. Consumer durables, auto and energy stocks supported the market, while weakness in information technology and metal shares capped gains. Markets extend losing streak to second week; rupee gains, media stocks shine
The Nifty Midcap 100 index snapped two-week gaining streak, falling 1.5 percent, while Nifty Smallcap 100 index ended with almost no change.

Among sectors, auto, pharma, oil & gas, PSU Bank telecom, metal added 0.4-1%, while media index shed 0.7%. Nifty Midcap index rose 0.6%, while smallcap index ended flat.

All the sectoral indices ended in the green with Capital Goods, Oil & Gas, Power, Infra, Media, Realty, Consumer Durables, IT rise 2% each. Nifty Midcap and Smallcap indices up more than 2 percent each.
