The Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) expands access for small farmers, women and disadvantaged groups through targeted mechanization support nationwide. Special emphasis has been placed on under-served and North-Eastern States to address regional disparities in access to farm machinery and technology. Since its inception, Rs 9,404.47 crore has supported the distribution of 21.61 lakh agricultural machines to individual farmers across India. Over 40,928 drone demonstrations covering 40,918 hectares were conducted with Rs.52.5 crore financial support, promoting precision agriculture adoption nationwide.

India continues to emerge as preferred destination for Global Capability Centres, says FM Nirmala Sitharaman
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said India continues to emerge as a preferred destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs) because of its skilled and strong institutions and innovation ecosystem. Addressing the CII National GCC Business Summit in New Delhi, the Finance Minister said, the country hosts more than 2100 GCCs employing 23 lakh professionals directly and generating nearly 100 billion US dollars in annual revenue. She said Global Capability Centres represent transformation by bringing together engineering, research, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, finance, product design, and data science to drive continuous innovation. Ms Sitharaman said, MNCs are now more likely to build their next capability centres in India than anywhere else. She highlighted that Indias GCC ecosystem represents the worlds largest organised knowledge export. LNG tankers return to Strait of Hormuz despite renewed Middle East tensions
Liquefied natural gas tankers have resumed transiting the Strait of Hormuz recently. Twenty-two Japan-linked vessels exited the Gulf since Tuesday, Tokyo confirmed. This occurred despite renewed fighting and attacks on commercial shipping. Several ballast LNG tankers entered the strait in recent days. Japan-linked vessels in the Gulf have significantly decreased since the conflict.
