Infosys, TCS and other IT stocks slide for third straight session as AI worries mount
Indian IT stocks extended their decline for a fourth straight session as investors trimmed exposure amid weak growth visibility, muted client spending and rising concerns over AI-driven disruption. The Nifty IT index fell sharply, with major names including Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services sliding on cautious guidance and deflationary headwinds.
Persistent Systems, Infosys lead sell-off in IT stocks; index extends weekly drop to 7%
Among the worst hit were Persistent Systems, Coforge, Mphasis and LTIMindtree, which declined between 3% and 5%. Heavyweights including Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys were down 2% to 3%.
Nifty IT index tanks 7% in 4 days; TCS, Infy, HCL, LTM hit fresh 52-wk lows
In 2026 so far, TCS, Infosys, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro have declined in the range of 17 per cent to 33 per cent. In comparison, the Nifty 50 index has dived 10 per cent, data showed.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd down for fifth straight session
Tata Consultancy Services Ltd is quoting at Rs 2278.9, down 0.93% on the day as on 13:19 IST on the NSE. The stock tumbled 35.78% in last one year as compared to a 4.71% slide in NIFTY and a 25.93% fall in the Nifty IT index.
