Vikran Engineering secures 969 MW AC solar power project of Rs 3,517.98 cr
The Company had earlier accepted a work order from Onix Renewable on 23 December 2025 for execution of the EPC works for the 600 MW project for Rs 2035.26 crore. Against the said earlier arrangement, work to the extent of around Rs 388.67 crore had been tentatively executed and the balance order value of around Rs 1,893.26 crore stands mutually cancelled pursuant to the revised contractual arrangement.

Suzlon Energy has bagged a significant 400 MW wind energy EPC contract from Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL). This latest deal, to be executed in Andhra Pradesh, pushes their combined order book past 1 GW. Suzlon will supply 127 advanced wind turbine generators and provide comprehensive project services, marking their fourth collaboration with TPREL and bolstering Suzlon's presence in Andhra Pradesh.

CleanMax bets on big tech, data centres to power next phase of growth
Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions, India's largest commercial and industrial renewable energy provider, is positioning itself for strong growth as demand from big tech and data centres accelerates. With 3.1 GW of installed capacity and a 5.7 GW contracted portfolio, the company counts Meta, Google, Apple, Amazon and Equinix among its customers. India nears 50% domestic coal use in import-based power plants, sources say
India is significantly boosting the use of domestic coal at power plants previously reliant on imports, aiming to slash costly overseas purchases. Over 50% of capacity at these plants is now running on local fuel, with trials expanding this further. This shift is enabled by increased renewable energy generation freeing up domestic supplies and plant modifications to handle local coal's higher ash content.

Stationary IndiGo plane suffers lightning strike at Kolkata airport
An IndiGo aircraft carrying over 140 people experienced a lightning strike at Kolkata airport on Friday morning. The plane, scheduled for Agartala, has been grounded as a precaution. Two ground staff, reportedly affected, received medical attention and are stable. Passengers were rerouted on a different flight.
