Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Indian benchmark indices extended the opening gains and trading around 23950. Except metal, all other sectoral indices are trading in the green with auto, FMCG, media up 1-1.5%. Nifty Midcap index trade flat and Smallcap index up 0.4%. Titan Company, M&M, Eternal, Sun Pharma, Bajaj Auto were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Bajaj Finserv, HDFC Life, Coal India, Tech Mahindra, Interglobe Aviation.
Nifty top gainers: IndiGo, Asian Paints among leading stocks as crude price plunge lifts global sentiment
Among the top gainers on the Nifty, IndiGo stock rose about 3.3 percent, while Asian Paints gained over 2 percent as crude oil prices retreated sharply after Monday’s surge. Sectorally, most indices remained in positive territory, with Nifty Auto and Nifty Pharma rising about 1.2 percent each.

Auto stocks also remained under pressure, with all 15 constituents of the Nifty Auto index trading lower.

Among the Nifty top losers today, IndiGo stock plunged about 5.4 percent, making it the biggest decliner on the index. State Bank of India fell around 5.1 percent. Auto stocks also featured prominently among the losers.

Except metals, all other sectoral indices ended lower with Auto, Consumer Durables, Oil & Gas down 2 percent each. The Nifty midcap and smallcap indices fell 1.5 percent each.

Among sectors, auto, pharma, oil & gas, PSU Bank telecom, metal added 0.4-1%, while media index shed 0.7%. Nifty Midcap index rose 0.6%, while smallcap index ended flat.

Among sectors, IT, capital goods and metal indices gained 1% each, while auto, bank, oil & gas ended lower. The Nifty midcap index rose 0.6 percent and smallcap index added nearly 1 percent.
