Among the Nifty constituents, Shriram Finance, L&T, InterGlobe Aviation, Bajaj Finance and Titan Company emerged as the top gainers. On the other hand, Nestle India, ONGC, Tech Mahindra, Tata Consumer and SBI Life Insurance ended as the major laggards.

Nifty midcap index rose 1 percent, while smallcap index added 0.65 percent. Among sectors, except FMCG ( down 0.7%) and IT (down 1%), all other indices ended in the green with capital goods, telecom, auto, infra, media, metal, realty, private bank up 1-2 percent.
