Closing Bell: Nifty crosses 24,200, Sensex surges 1,264 pts on renewed hopes of US-Iran peace talks
Interglobe Aviation, Max Healthcare, Power Grid Corp, Wipro, Eternal were among biggest gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank. All the sectoral indices ended in the green with Capital Goods, Oil & Gas, Power, Infra, Media, Realty, Consumer Durables, IT rise 2% each. Nifty Midcap and Smallcap indices up more than 2 percent each.
Closing Bell: Nifty above 23,100, Sensex gain 509 pts; IT, metal, realty shine
Biggest Nifty gainers were Wipro, Hindalco Industries, HCL Technologies, TCS, Infosys, while losers included Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Adani Enterprises, Interglobe Aviatoion, Apollo Hospitals, Adani Ports. Except Consumer Durables and PSU Bank, all other sectoral indices ended in the green with Information Technology rose 2.5%, Metal index gained 1.5%, Realty index up 1.7% and Media index jumped 1%. The Nifty midcap index was up 0.3 percent, while smallcap index ended flat.

Indian equities erased all the intraday losses with Nifty back above 23,500. TCS, Infosys, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, Trent are among top gainers on the Nifty, while losers are NTPC, Power Grid Corp, Cipla, Dr Reddy's Labs and L&T. Among sectors IT index up 4%, while auto, metal, Consumer Durables, realty up 0.5% each. However, pharma, healthcare, power, media, energy down 0.5-1%. Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Indian benchmark indices bounced back on March 20 with Nifty50 index reclaiming 23300 amid falling crude oil prices on hopes of de-escalation in the Middle East. All the sectoral indices are trading in the green with metal, power, PSU Bank, IT indices jumped 2-3%. Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap indices rose 1-2% each.

Among sectors, except FMCG ( down 0.7%) and IT (down 1%), all other indices ended in the green with capital goods, telecom, auto, infra, media, metal, realty, private bank up 1-2 percent.

Biggest Nifty gainers M&M, Grasim Industries, Trent, UltraTech Cement, Bajaj Finance, while losers are Bharat Electronics, Wipro, Max Healthcare, Sun Pharma, Coal India. On the sectoral front, auto, bank, FMCG up 0.5-1%, while media, oil & gas, pharma, realty, capital goods down 0.5-2%. Nifty Midcap index is trading flat, while smallcap index down 0.5%.
