Sensex drops 590 pts; oil & gas shares decline
At 11:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex fell 590.04 points or 0.76% to 76,679.36. The Nifty 50 index slipped 169.50 points or 0.72% to 23,947.55.
Defence stocks: HAL, GRSE, Apollo Micro gain up to 3% in weak market
The Nifty India Defence index hit an intra-day high of 9,093.20, up 1.3 per cent on the NSE in intra-day deals, and was inching towards its 52-week high of 9,159.55 touched on June 24, 2025.
