The Nifty Auto index emerged as the top sectoral gainer, rising more than 2 percent; while banking indices gained over 1.5 percent each. HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Bajaj Finance were the three largest contributors to Nifty gains, collectively accounting for nearly 70 points.

Bank Nifty gains nearly 1% to climb above 58,600; analysts see 59,000-59,200 as next target
Bank Nifty rose nearly 1 percent on June 25, breaking above the closely watched 58,500 resistance level, with analysts expecting the rally to extend towards 59,000-59,200 if the index sustains above the breakout zone.

Closing Bell: Nifty above 23,100, Sensex gain 509 pts; IT, metal, realty shine
Biggest Nifty gainers were Wipro, Hindalco Industries, HCL Technologies, TCS, Infosys, while losers included Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Adani Enterprises, Interglobe Aviatoion, Apollo Hospitals, Adani Ports. Except Consumer Durables and PSU Bank, all other sectoral indices ended in the green with Information Technology rose 2.5%, Metal index gained 1.5%, Realty index up 1.7% and Media index jumped 1%. The Nifty midcap index was up 0.3 percent, while smallcap index ended flat.

Quant Mutual Fund was the biggest buyer among 22 investors, acquiring additional 40.83 lakh shares in Premier Energies for Rs 390 crore.

Hindalco Industries, Power Grid Corp, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle, Eternal, NTPC were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were ONGC, ITC, HDFC Life, HDFC Bank, Wipro.
